Recycled Glass

This unique material is a beautiful marriage of design and sustainability. Made of recycled glass suspended in a bonding material (often concrete), this product does not require manufacturers to quarry into the earth, and brings new life to something that would otherwise be discarded. Each surface is completely unique, with colors and patterns raging as wide as the imagination.

While glass is non porous and won’t stain, the suspension materials have will have different properties. Sealing the surface and resealing at least once a year will help prevent the concrete in the design from staining and from absorbing any liquid. In addition, we recommend avoiding acidic cleaners, and instead opting for a PH-neutral stone cleaner instead. Being sure to clean acidic spills like lemon, wine, and tomato quickly will also help to prevent discoloration and staining. Glass can be susceptible to scratching, so it is best to use a cutting board when cooking. This surface is resistant to heat, but it is still recommended to use a trivet under hot cookware to prevent potential cracks.
